Webquests Webquests have been defined by Dudeney & Hockley (2007) as mini-projects in which the bulk of material is taken from the Internet. They can be teacher or student-made and what distinguishes them from other forms or projects is their relatively firm structure. There are two types of webquests: short-term webquests in which students gather information from the Internet to achieve learning goals and long term webquests in which students collect the material and analyze and transform it to get a new product. Dudeney & Hockley (2007), list after Dodge, four steps of webquest creation: 1. introduction: in which the teacher presents the topic in general, gives basic information about it and finally introduces the key notions and vocabulary concerning the topic, 2. task: the teacher explains clearly and precisely what the learners are to do and presents how to do it, 3. process: the learners go through exercises and research the sources prepared by the teacher to obtain a product or products, 4. evaluation: the participants self-evaluate the results they achieved and compare and discuss them with other groups.
